Can we (are we) challenge for the title?
If we can get to the level we played yesterday consistently, stay injury free, maybe a new addition or two January, what’s to say?

West Ham are massive ⚒

Small margins indeed.

Take those tight defeats away, we’d be 2nd and 1 point behind Chelsea and unbeaten.

Still wouldn’t expect to win the league mind

Think its 21 games 2 defeats so far all competitions , 2 defeats
one missed penalty and a last kick goal. We are certainly in the mix , quadruple still on ha ha , madness really.

Re: Can we (are we) challenge for the title?
Moyes has made a career out of being consistently good against teams around him and beating teams he should beat.

He’s now adding being competitive against bigger teams. If that continues I expect to us finish higher than his Everton teams did.

Re: Can we (are we) challenge for the title?
I’m constantly surprised by Moyes and this team, anything is possible, and I do hope we are rewarded with some kind of silverware but the PL title is maybe a step to far.

One of the cups would be most likely, the Europa would be my pick, of the current sides maybe Leicester and Napoli are the biggest obstacle and on current form we should beat either of them, but lets see who drops down from the CL, usually at least 1 big club will slip up and end up in the Europa.

We have a squad that has real belief, is confident and has the skill, one of the things that has stood out for me is every time a West Ham side goes out, be it PL or In a cup, EVERY player puts in a shift, no one hides, no one on match threads or in youtube reviews is digging out or criticising this or that player for being shit or not pulling their weight, well apart from a few troll like characters who dig out Noble especially no mater what!

Browno

That's just the point though. Can we keep that level of intensity skill and commitment against teams like Brentford, Watford, Burnley, Southampton....?

Re: Can we (are we) challenge for the title?
If we'd have beaten Brentford we'd be joint top. For games like that I don't think we will win it but I continue to be shocked by us

Re: Can we (are we) challenge for the title?
We need to beat the likes of Brighton and Arsenal who we perennially fail miserably against and spurs and Everton and hope for a few more like yesterday against top 4. The rest will take care of itself

Re: Can we (are we) challenge for the title?
Man City will win the league, based on the current odds on Hills.

Man C 4-5

West Ham 50-1

Maybe worth an e/w punt, but not to win outright

Re: Can we (are we) challenge for the title?
Pre Leicester I’d have said, no way not a chance.

However when Leicester did what they did, at this stage of the season they were 3rd, on less points than us. That said, they had to plod on and wait for the perineal chokers Spurs to slip up, we have Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City having much better seasons.

But that’s why I love what Leicester did so much, because it gives clubs like us a glimmer, however small, of hope.

That glimmer and our performances says yes we can.

Our thin squad and the strength of those around us tells me we won’t.

But I’ll enjoy the glimmer while it’s still there

Re: Can we (are we) challenge for the title?
Based at n yesterday’s showing I say yes!

We went toe to toe with them and came out worthy winners.

Chelsea is still a challenge but we know we can beat Liverpool, Man U and hold our own against City.

Arsenal are coming on, we will see what they are made of in there next game against Liverpool.

Everybody else we are better than.

We need to believe we are the best team in the Prem and go out and play like it….. Moyes needs to set us up the right way for each game as well….. Yesterday’s half time adjustment was superb…..

Great to see us go after it for a change. No more parking the bus!

The realist in mesays no but how many Leicester fans said the same in 2016?

The great events of that year should teach us all to never say never.

True but like I said, I dont gamble, I just presumed that the likes of Spurs, Arsenal and Man Utd would still have better odds than us but thinking about it, probably not, they are not going to win the title.......

If this Czech guy comes in with some money, I am sure we sign Lingard in January.

nychammer 9:19 Mon Nov 8
Re: Can we (are we) challenge for the title?
I reckon if Lingard wants to make the step up to CL football he’ll force the issue with Man U and sign with us

Re: Can we (are we) challenge for the title?
No, not ready to challenge by any means. We have a good chance of getting in Europe again, a chance of top 4 if everyone stays fit and in top form.
Things can change very quickly. Other teams will chick obscene money at players in Jan to strengthen and challenge. We need to continue to invest and strengthen with the right players.
Whatever we do we need to keep the spirit we have now in the team and tie down some of them for longer as we really have a good chance to build up to be that title challenger.
